WEA Trust health plan receives the No. 1 score in Wisconsin for health plan rating

The WEA Trust Health Plan received the top score in Wisconsin and the second highest score in the United States for health plan rating, according to the latest results from the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems, or CAHPS®, a national survey that included hundreds of health plans.

It's the second straight year the Trust health plan received the top rating in Wisconsin.

A random sampling of WEA Trust health plan members participated in CAHPS®. The written survey asks health plan members to report on and evaluate their experiences with health care, including their insurance.

CAHPS asks respondents to rate their health plan on a scale of 0 to 10 and 90.2% of WEA Trust health plan members rate their plan an 8 or higher. That score is well above the national average of 59.5%. The Trust’s score rates in the top 1% for health plans that participated in CAHPS.

"This shows that Trust health plans provide a great value to employers and employees covered by the plan,"said Mark Moody, WEA Trust President." A Trust health plan means a commitment to comprehensive benefits and great customer service."

The WEA Trust provides health insurance to public school employees across Wisconsin and puts its emphasis on using premium dollars wisely and meeting members' needs. While many companies have chosen to outsource customer care and automate phone service, the WEA Trust maintains the personal touch and strives to answer members' questions efficiently.

"For employers, providing an insurance plan with quality services means their employees can spend their time doing what is most important in a school—teaching kids." Moody said.

Other insurance carriers often tell school districts that they will match the WEA Trust's benefits. Moody said this survey shows there is a difference between the Trust and other plans. "This is an independent, respected national survey and it shows that putting members first makes a difference," Moody said.
