The WEA Trust health plans

The WEA Trust offers a selection of five health plans, described below.
- Preferred Provider Plan (Trust Preferred)
The Preferred Provider Plan offers members access to a broad array of physicians, clinics, and hospitals through a single statewide Network. When members use these Network providers, they will receive the maximum reimbursement amount available.
- Point of Service Plan
Members decide where to receive services each time medical care is needed. The level at which payment is made depends on how the medical services are accessed. "How the WEA POS Plan Works" provides a graphical presentation of the plan.
- Front-End Deductible Plan
All covered services are subject to deductible and coinsurance amounts. Therefore, we reimburse the reasonable and customary cost of covered services, less applicable deductible and coinsurance amounts.
- WEA-MedPlus Plan
WEA-MedPlus is an alternate health insurance plan for public school retirees and their spouses who are 65 and older. It coordinates comprehensive medical benefits with Medicare's primary coverage.
- Conversion Plan
The Health Conversion Plan is a health insurance plan that is only available to individuals who are no longer eligible for a WEA Trust employer-sponsored group health insurance pan or whose legally mandated continuation coverage, known as COBRA, has ended.
