A guide to help you select your Medicare prescription drug coverage

We at the Trust hope to be a reliable resource and to help you understand Medicare prescription drug coverage and the options available to you.
Medicare prescription drug coverage (Medicare Part D) is insurance that helps pay for brand-name and generic prescription drugs at participating pharmacies. Everyone with Medicare is eligible for this coverage, but as with Medicare Part B, you must enroll.
Note: You do not need to enroll in Medicare Part D if you have WEA Trust prescription drug coverage.
Which drug coverage is best for you?
The new Medicare drug program provides you with two options:

What if I waive coverage?
Important dates for Medicare Part D
- November 15 to December 31, 2008 (open enrollment): Next opportunity to enroll for Medicare-eligible individuals who missed their initial enrollment period. Coverage for people who enroll during this period becomes effective January 1, 2009.
Open enrollment is an opportunity to re-evaluate your Medicare Part D coverage for the following year. You can complete the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Finder at medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE, push "0", and ask their customer service representative to complete the Drug Plan Finder for you. You can also call the Trust's Customer Service Department at 1-800-279-4000 for further assistance. |
